About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage RF/Radar R&D projects from proposal through delivery
  • Perform engineering design and work on RF/Radar research initiatives
  • Manage project proposal efforts
  • Partner with research engineers and stakeholders to independently manage projects from intake through closure
  • Ensure creative deliverables are completed on schedule, within scope, and within budget
  • Drive operational excellence through disciplined execution, fiscal accountability, and strategic value
  • Serve as primary liaison between internal customers and the engineering research team
  • Work with project stakeholders and business leadership to ensure successful project execution
  • Guide, motivate, and direct engineering teams to achieve business goals
  • Take ownership of project outcomes, align teams, and foster collaboration across the organization
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and optimization of wireless/RF systems and products

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in project management or systems engineering
  • 2+ years of experience leading engineering project teams across multidisciplinary initiatives while managing multiple projects at one time
  • Aerospace or Defense research experience
  • Experience with Radar/RF, antenna design, radar signal processing, radar system architecture, and/or phased arrays
  • Full ownership of project proposals, budget management, resource allocation, and timeline execution
  • Direct engagement with customers and partners to define their needs and requirements, then apply skills to find creative solutions through rigorous analysis, engineering, and experimentation
  • Advanced degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline (valued)
  • Ability to communicate ideas and results to research sponsors, scientific peers, and business leadership through presentations, publications, and proposal writing
  • Strong understanding of aircraft and avionics integration
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware and software technical issues
  • High degree of creativity and independence in problem-solving and project management
  • PMP project management certification (valued)
  • Must be a US Person, US citizen, or US permanent resident
