About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate the capabilities of electronic component suppliers and support the transition of hardware from development to production
  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement targeted quality improvement plans for electronic component manufacturing processes
  • Lead and participate in capacity assessment exercises
  • Establish clear metrics and performance expectations related to electronic components
  • Partner with suppliers to lead and support OPEX projects improving product flow, throughput, lead time, and yield
  • Ensure electronic component suppliers comply with quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, New Product Introduction, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and improve overall supply chain performance
  • Travel locally and domestically 25% normally, and up to 50% on rare occasions
  • Report directly to the Director of Supplier Development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering and / or supplier development with a focus on Printed Wiring Boards and / or other electrical component production / design / engineering / NPI
  • Proficiency in quality management and problem-solving tools, including Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP/PPAP)
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and practices related to electronics components / PWB manufacturing
  • In-depth knowledge of supplier development strategies, supplier relationship management, and quality control
  • Experience with project management and Kaizen facilitation
  • Familiarity with Total Preventative Maintenance, asset management for downtime reduction, critical spare parts, and CAPEX proposals
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen
  • 6+ years of leadership and team management experience
  • Green or Black Belt Certification(s) in Lean / Six Sigma
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or able to obtain an export authorization
