Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing – Raw Materials, Castings and Forgings

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute annual and strategic procurement plans
- Ensure alignment of procurement strategies with business objectives
- Lead sourcing transition initiatives to optimize the supply base and reduce risk
- Participate in new supplier search and development
- Drive supplier negotiation and contract management
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in the procurement team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies
- Improve sourcing processes and performance through effective management operating systems
- Communicate and report transition progress to senior leadership
- Lead supplier management activities to drive deliveries to need and facilitate recovery solutions
- Manage the Raw Material, Casting and Forging sub-commodities
- Drive cost savings, working capital improvement, supplier quality, and supply chain continuity
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. person requirement: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
- Bachelor/master’s degree in Materials/Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy
- 15+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing procurement strategies
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
- Knowledge of sourcing processes and tools, such as SAP and e-sourcing platforms
- International experience with exposure to high-growth regions
- Cross-functional experience in engineering/technology, operations, sales/marketing
- Professional certifications in project/supply chain/procurement/contract management
- Experience with Request for Quotation Tools and Project Management Tools
- Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
