About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead end-to-end global equity lifecycle operations, including implementations, grant processing, RSU/PU vesting and settlements, stock option exercises, cancellations, and tax withholding
- Design, implement, and automate stock plan workflows across HRIS, ADP, and Morgan Stanley systems
- Build internal control frameworks and conduct equity reconciliations for data integrity and compliance with SEC, IRS, SOX, global securities laws, and internal policies
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Corporate Tax, external auditors, and tax advisors on quarterly and year-end activities, regulatory filings, proxy tables, data anomalies, and ASC 718 stock-based compensation expense modeling
- Provide subject-matter expertise and timely support to employees and executives on equity inquiries, data requests, and reporting
- Administer Director and Executive Deferred Compensation Plans, including enrollments, elections, vesting, exercises, distributions, and participant communications
- Develop employee and executive communications, educational and training materials, and resources
- Contribute to the design and rollout of new equity programs and plans
- Report directly to the VP of Executive Compensation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing equity administration, including experience with administering stock-based awards
- Experience administering Deferred Compensation plans
- Experience using equity administration platforms
- Knowledge of SOX controls, implementation and maintenance
- Ability to manage complex data sets and calculations with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with data gathering/validation, reconciliations, and audit
- Strong verbal and communication skills; ability to collaborate across the organization and convey equity-related insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to work independently and with others, multitask, prioritize, follow through, and meet deadlines
- High level of proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and formulas, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and similar functions
- Certified Equity Professional (CEP) preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Knowledge of Morgan Stanley Shareworks is a plus
