About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead high-impact engineering initiatives for the CFE738 and TFE731 turbofan engine programs
- Collaborate with engineers, customers, suppliers, certification authorities and executive leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary projects spanning fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, exhaust and powerplant installation systems
- Maintain technical integrity, regulatory compliance and successful project execution
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Execute design and approved source-list changes for engine and powerplant components
- Develop and manage schedules and milestones
- Manage costs and budgets, including estimates and project planning
- Develop technical requirements
- Manage project performance and technical execution
- Develop and manage risks and opportunities
- Interface with vendors and manage technical requirements
- Present project plans and status to customers, operators and internal stakeholders
- Orchestrate documentation for engine/component certification and qualification projects
- Co-author and write technical documents for organizational alignment, technical congruency and compliance
- Revise and maintain technical publications with team members and outside vendors
- Report directly to the Sr. Project Engineering Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Minimum of 5 years of Project engineering or Program management experience within the aerospace industry
- Technical publications and maintenance manual experience related to aerospace products
- Direct experience with the design, development and certification of turbomachinery or complex aircraft systems
- Experience with turbomachine engine installations
- Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 33 or equivalent certification requirements
- Aircraft manufacturer and/or Part 25 hardware experience
- Direct experience with root cause-corrective action investigations, cost reduction programs or new product development
- Experience working collaboratively with suppliers to turn designs into hardware and solve problems in production
- Ability to plan technical programs, including budget and schedule estimation, resource planning, risk and requirements management
- Ability to recognize cost and schedule risks and develop and execute risk mitigation plans
- Ability to provide technical contributions essential to successful project completion
- Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status under asylum or refugee status, or able to obtain export authorization
