About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop software for flight recorders using C, C++, and Python
  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, coding, testing, and engineering documentation, in accordance with RTCA DO‑178C
  • Design, execute, and evaluate software tests using simulators to verify data streaming functionality
  • Follow, oversee, and refine software design methodologies
  • Enhance coding best practices
  • Collect requirements from stakeholders
  • Communicate issues with stakeholders and the team and contribute to their timely resolution
  • Coordinate customer issue resolution
  • Support Recorders COE initiatives, long-term strategies, and product roadmaps
  • Collaborate with engineering, business teams, suppliers, customers, and other partners
  • Grow toward an Engineering Product Owner role with design authority over the complete Recorders portfolio

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering
  • Senior level skills in C, C++, and Python
  • Proven track record working with VxWorks or other real-time operating systems
  • Hands-on experience with PKI infrastructure, including key management, certificate lifecycle, and trust chains
  • Practical knowledge of X.509 digital certificates, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
  • Familiarity with RTCA DO‑178C development principles
  • Ability to communicate in English at B2 to C1 level
  • Experience with aviation data standards such as ARINC 717, ARINC 429, and ARINC 767
  • Experience with Agile environments using Atlassian tools
  • Knowledge of high-speed serial interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, USB, and LVDS
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and software development lifecycle
  • Experience with real-time or performance-critical software systems
  • Organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness to learn new technologies in a fast-paced, global business environment
