About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust software architectures and applications for automated test stations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to translate system requirements into software specifications
  • Contribute to improvements in performance, usability, and integration
  • Work with avionics and communication interfaces including ARINC 429, IEEE-1394, MIL-STD-1553, UART, RS-422, and fiber-optic-based systems
  • Develop software documentation including user guides, technical specifications, design records, and release notes
  • Write clean, maintainable code in multiple programming languages, including object-oriented languages such as C++
  • Support software reliability, modularity, maintainability, and compliance with system-level requirements and safe coding standards
  • Report directly to the Software Engineering Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field) from an accredited institution
  • 0-1 year of hands-on software development experience
  • Basic understanding of software development and toolchains such as SVN or Git
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio .NET development using C++ or C#
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance (Secret or higher) is preferred
  • Internship or co-op experience in aerospace software design is valued
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), and digital/analog I/O instrumentation is valued
  • Familiarity with embedded systems or hardware-software integration is valued
  • Basic knowledge of Python is valued
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot hardware and/or software
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
