About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain software components, architectures, and applications supporting critical aerospace systems and automated test stations
  • Translate system requirements into software specifications
  • Execute project tasks and work packages to meet technical, schedule, and customer requirements
  • Ensure requirements traceability and alignment with development standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross-functional engineering, integration, and test teams
  • Coordinate technical exchanges concerning requirements, interfaces, and design considerations
  • Develop user guides, technical specifications, design records, release notes, and other software documentation
  • Write clean, maintainable code in multiple programming languages, including object-oriented languages such as C++
  • Contribute to peer reviews, team best practices, engineering rigor, continuous improvement, and high-quality software deliverables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded or aerospace-related software, contributing to the design, implementation, and testing of software components
  • Strong understanding of software development and verification workflows, including requirements traceability, structured peer reviews, test coverage analysis, formal problem reporting, and requirements management tools
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio .NET development
  • Experience using C++ or C#
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio workload configurations, diagnostics tools, extensions, and code-profiling capabilities
  • Experience with source-control and software development toolchains such as SVN, Git, DOORS, ClearQuest, or CI pipelines
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance based on program needs
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance (Secret or higher) is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with test automation and automated test equipment is valued
  • Experience with avionics and communication interfaces such as ARINC 429, IEEE-1394, MIL-STD-1553, UART, RS-422, and fiber-optic-based systems is valued
  • Familiarity with embedded systems or hardware-software integration is valued
  • Strong working knowledge of Python is valued
