About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and manage complex systems involving hardware, software, and network components
- Perform mechanical systems and equipment integration and oversight
- Coordinate with component and analysis teams
- Support system architecture trade studies
- Present trades involving cost, weight, performance, technical, and schedule risk
- Develop requirements-based systems engineering requirements that satisfy customer requirements
- Validate requirements for intended applications
- Create and execute verification plans using the V-model
- Plan and execute system-level performance, environmental, and vibration tests
- Present technical content to technical leads, customers, and management
- Write technical reports and coordination memos
- Maintain traceable documentation supporting program execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical-systems-related engineering experience
- Direct experience and expertise in at least one part of requirements-based engineering, such as requirement validation, derivation/decomposition, verification planning, qualification planning, or system/component testing
- Ability to execute requirement-based engineering tasks with minimal oversight
- Fundamental understanding of stress, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- Organized approach to completing work on time and meeting quality expectations
- U.S. Person status as defined by U.S. export control laws, or ability to obtain export authorization
- Experience with systems or project engineering in the aerospace industry is valued
- Experience with environmental control, vapor cycle, air cycle, thermal management, fuel tank inerting, system architecture, turbomachinery, heat exchangers, power electronics, or controls is valued
- Experience with DOORS or DOORS NG is valued
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering, including CAMEO, SysML V1, or SysML V2, is valued
- Experience with digital thread practices is valued
- Experience in electromechanical engineering, particularly thermal management systems, is valued
- Test experience, including test plans, test procedures, test execution, acceptance test procedures, DO-160, or MIL-STD 810 environmental testing, is valued
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and consistently take initiative is valued
