About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement engineering solutions for Process Control and Human Machine Interface on industrial process automation projects
- Work on greenfield developments based on EPC specifications
- Perform legacy/release migrations from old Honeywell systems to new systems
- Perform competitive migrations from competing systems to Honeywell systems
- Support third-party integration, SCADA, PLC programming and migrations, system engineering, cybersecurity, networking, and virtualization
- Ensure design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, and budget prerequisites are in place
- Create Functional Design Specifications and Detailed Design Specifications
- Create FAT and SAT procedures and operator manuals
- Implement Honeywell DCS and PLC controllers
- Create and migrate HMI displays, dynamic/static shapes, objects, and faceplates
- Configure and administer servers/stations in physical or virtual environments
- Configure networking equipment including switches and routers
- Participate in kick-off meetings, internal FATs, FATs, SATs, commissioning, and start-up
- Communicate with customers to define and agree project requirements
- Coordinate engineering teams on projects
- Monitor and ensure project scope and schedule are met
- Recommend quality and efficiency improvements
- Share technical knowledge with project and engineering teams
- Report progress, technical problems, and changes to the project lead engineer or Project Manager
- Coach and mentor less experienced engineers
- Own the technical scope of assigned projects
- Travel to customers at an average of 50% annually
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor / Master of Science Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 7 years of relevant project experience
- Relevant site hands-on experience on System and DCS
- Relevant customer interfacing experience
- Experience with DCS controller configuration, testing, commissioning, and start-up
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols: Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Fieldbus, OPC
- System integration
- Basic CCNA knowledge
- Ability to read P&IDs
- Ability to independently query and analyze data from operational, engineering, or process databases
- Understanding of database structures, relationships, and data integrity principles
- Prompt engineering
- AI-assisted research and documentation
- Critical evaluation and validation of AI outputs
- Responsible AI usage with security/confidentiality awareness
- Critical thinking
- Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
- Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers
