About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide all Engineered-to-Order mechanical engineering and design aspects for assigned combustion projects
  • Design fuel skids and air heater chambers used with Honeywell burner products
  • Size pressure regulators and blowers and specify components for fuel-fired combustion systems
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Fabrication teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality combustion systems
  • Load, modify, and maintain bills of material, project time routings, and engineering drawings across multiple software platforms
  • Serve as a mechanical point of contact for questions, issues, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Own assigned projects and resolve day-to-day technical and project issues with ISC/shop personnel, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Business, third-party fabricators, and subcontractors
  • Provide mechanical engineering technical leadership during project development, execution, and post-shipment phases
  • Meet or exceed KPI targets, including on-time deliveries
  • Manage and coordinate projects using CAD design skills in Global Engineering Service Centers
  • Support review of project specifications and requirements before project sale
  • Lead development of technical solutions for combustion systems during execution or at customer sites after shipment
  • Report directly to the Engineering Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Technology) from an ABET accredited university
  • Minimum of 0–5 years of engineering and/or project management related experience
  • 0–5 years’ experience utilizing CAD software tools
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically for customer, vendor, and internal meetings as needed; minimal travel expected
  • Interest in fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer
  • SAP BRP business system software knowledge is a plus
  • Autodesk Inventor design experience
  • Knowledge of industrial piping systems and manufacturing
  • Visual Basic scripting or similar Excel and Access experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with piping codes for natural gas systems, including NFPA 86, ASME B31.1, and ASME B31.3
  • Experience with natural gas handling, sensors, fittings, and regulators
  • Experience with combustion equipment and systems
  • Strong familiarity with project scheduling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn complex information and explain details to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must be a U.S. Person under U.S. export control laws, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, person with protected asylum/refugee status, or someone able to obtain export authorization
