About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for building automation products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and ensure design feasibility
  • Validate prototypes by defining and/or implementing environmental, cycle, and durability test plans
  • Improve test capabilities through automation, sensors, and software/firmware
  • Support sustaining engineering activities, including design changes, quality improvements, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Report directly to the Engineering Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and development
  • 3+ years of proficiency in CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks
  • Experience with mechanical analysis/simulation tools
  • 1+ years working closely with cross-functional teams such as Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in building automation or related industries
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in mechanical design
  • Experience with product lifecycle management tools such as Teamcenter
  • Experience with materials selection, manufacturing processes, and product testing
  • Flexibility around travel to supplier, customer, and manufacturing sites
  • Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and GD&T documentation
