About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop accurate, timely and professional estimates for BMS/HVAC, Security and possibly Fire systems, covering scope, materials and labor
- Compare sales information with delivered information and guide factors for competitive estimates on future jobs
- Support efforts to obtain or retain competitive position
- Comply with all required Health and Safety policies
- Engage early with Sales to understand enquiries/RFQs and design suitable solutions
- Work closely with Operations to agree cost assessments, anticipate risks and identify synergies
- Maintain product knowledge and technical skills to current standards and portfolio
- Develop alternate solutions for enquiries when required
- Conduct internal technical reviews and assist with proposal and management approval reviews
- Develop detailed Bills of Materials and risk analyses when necessary
- Obtain vendor quotes for supplies and subcontracted work; identify strategic partners to reduce costs and increase efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with processes and zero non-compliance in internal and external audits
- Support sales professionals, bid managers and customers during technical requirement definition and solution development
- Use feedback mechanisms to update standards, maintain competitiveness and reduce deviations
- Support final negotiations and customer meetings
- Work with Country Sales, regional proposal and estimation teams, and cross-functional teams
- Join and lead internal and external calls
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronic, mechanic, building automation engineering or related field
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to operate collaboratively
- Understanding of digital/cloud technologies
- Ability to develop Excel macros to expedite the estimation process
- Understanding of smart technologies (IoT/Networks) and AI is nice to have
- Communicative knowledge of English and Italian is nice to have
- Willingness to learn and further education
- Understanding of cybersecurity and operational technology is nice to have
- Understanding and passing all required training
