About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee plant procurement activities across Sourcing and Purchasing Operations
  • Manage Site Buyers and drive procurement excellence, productivity, and working-capital initiatives across the LNG supply base
  • Report weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs and oversee Buyers’ purchasing activities
  • Maintain bi-weekly supplier committee meetings and leadership connections with plant stakeholders
  • Support alternate supplier selection, supplier strategies, new supplier qualification, and supply-base expansion
  • Improve PR-to-PO conversion, purchase-order acknowledgements, invoice resolution, and supplier on-time delivery
  • Evaluate supplier risks and develop mitigation plans with suppliers and cross-functional teams
  • Develop contract strategies and lead negotiations with key strategic LNG suppliers
  • Integrate Honeywell procurement processes and the UOP supplier qualification model into the LNG business
  • Lead or support sole-source reduction and value-engineering activities
  • Report monthly productivity savings and operational KPIs
  • Align purchasing activities with Engineering, Finance, ISC, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Projects
  • Lead steering committee meetings and supplier delivery-shortage escalations
  • Implement supplier scorecards and develop LNG Preferred Supplier Lists and Approved Vendor Lists
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Coach and develop Site Buyers and remove operational roadblocks
  • Lead weekly project-progress, procurement-operations KPI, and LNG procurement meetings
  • Maintain project procurement plans, supplier issues, expediting, and strategy development for Heat Exchanger projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, specifically in machining/fabrication operations
  • 5 years’ experience managing a team of Strategic and Operational Buyers
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools relevant to machining procurement
  • Expertise in managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with procurement standards
  • In-depth knowledge of machining processes, materials, and technologies, including CNC machining, tooling, and fabrication methods
  • Experience evaluating machine suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Ability to analyze machining specifications and requirements for optimal sourcing decisions
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience conducting technical assessments of machining components for compliance with engineering standards and project specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is valued
  • Proven track record managing large-scale procurement operations in machining
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset
  • Ability to drive change and lead cross-functional teams
  • Must be a U.S. person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or person with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
