About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage day-to-day activities for assigned litigation and dispute matters, including commercial litigation, personal injury, products liability, and pre-litigation disputes
  • Conduct legal research and factual analysis, assess risk, and develop recommendations with more senior attorneys
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on matter strategy, discovery, settlement evaluation, budgeting, and resolution planning
  • Serve as the legal point of contact for assigned matters and escalate significant risks and developments
  • Review outside counsel work product, invoices, budgets, and matter progress
  • Prepare legal analyses, status updates, and recommendations for legal leadership and business partners
  • Collaborate with business, compliance, and risk teams to identify litigation exposure and mitigation measures
  • Monitor relevant legal, regulatory, and industry developments and communicate implications to stakeholders
  • Maintain matter records in accordance with applicable laws, ethical standards, and company policies
  • Take ownership of assigned work while seeking guidance on high-risk or highly complex matters
  • Provide responsive, practical, business-oriented legal support
  • Share knowledge and contribute to improvements in litigation processes, templates, tools, and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
  • Typically, 4-7 years of litigation experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment
  • Experience with commercial litigation or product liability
  • Prior in-house experience or substantial client-facing responsibility
  • Experience supporting or managing litigation matters and working with outside counsel
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Sound judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate legal risk into practical business guidance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across functions
  • Exposure to cross-border disputes or litigation outside the United States
  • Experience preparing or presenting legal recommendations to business and legal stakeholders
  • Interest in continued professional growth and progressively broader matter responsibility
