About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a Contracts Administration subject matter expert for assigned customer companies
  • Independently administer assigned customer contracts from award through completion and closeout
  • Review and interpret contracts, modifications, solicitations, amendments, clauses, and other contractual documents
  • Identify and communicate contractual requirements, obligations, risks, and potential impacts
  • Monitor periods of performance, funding, ceilings, option periods, contract line items, deliverables, reporting requirements, and milestones
  • Interpret and apply the FAR, applicable agency supplements, contract clauses, and customer-specific requirements
  • Review and administer contract modifications, including funding actions, scope changes, periods of performance, labor categories, and contract line items
  • Monitor contract performance and identify upcoming actions, deadlines, and concerns
  • Identify compliance issues and provide recommendations or escalation
  • Maintain complete, accurate, current contract files and records
  • Support contract closeout activities
  • Advise assigned customer companies and provide guidance on contractual requirements and obligations
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Finance, Operations, Business Development, and other internal teams
  • Participate in contract reviews and customer meetings
  • Review proposed modifications and assess contractual, operational, and financial impacts
  • Coordinate modification processing, approvals, and documentation
  • Track funding, option exercises, extensions, changes, and other lifecycle events
  • Support transitions, new awards, novations, transfers, extensions, and closeout
  • Support internal reviews, audits, and compliance assessments
  • Share lessons learned and best practices
  • Improve processes, procedures, templates, controls, and contract lifecycle management systems
  • Assist with Contracts Administration guidance and training materials

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contracts Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Government contract administration
  • Advanced knowledge of Contracts Administration principles and practices
  • Strong working knowledge of the FAR and applicable agency supplements
  • Experience independently administering complex Government contracts
  • Experience with Firm-Fixed-Price, Time-and-Materials, Cost-Reimbursement, and/or Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity contracts
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts, modifications, solicitations, contract clauses, and other contractual documents
  • Experience administering contract modifications, funding actions, option periods, periods of performance, contract line items, and other contractual changes
  • Ability to identify contractual risks and provide practical recommendations
  • Strong understanding of the government contract lifecycle from award through closeout
  • Ability to independently manage multiple contracts, priorities, and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to exercise sound contractual judgment and appropriately escalate issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Professional certification such as CFCM, CPCM, or similar preferred
  • Experience supporting small businesses and/or 8(a) government contractors preferred
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar government contracting systems preferred
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems preferred
  • Experience supporting government contract audits, reviews, or compliance assessments preferred
  • Experience developing or delivering Contracts Administration training preferred
