About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in collaboration with a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Implement programs and services planned and directed by the Speech Language Pathologist
  • Provide treatment, guidance, and instruction to residents in individual and group settings
  • Follow individual plans of care developed and evaluated by the Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Collect data and write daily treatment notes according to each patient’s treatment plan
  • Maintain speech and language therapy equipment and make necessary adjustments
  • Promote motivation in treatment through creativity
  • Treat patients with sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Assist the therapist with evaluation and record keeping procedures as directed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree – Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent
  • Holds Illinois license as Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant Professional
  • Effective communication skills
  • Enhanced understanding of medical/clinical records, consents, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications
