About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop a thorough understanding of projects’ design philosophy and provide input on design and building performance strategies
- Lead technical design efforts, detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control throughout all project phases
- Seek creative and innovative solutions and develop supporting research and documentation
- Collaborate with consultants and knowledge resources to coordinate and integrate project deliverables
- Deliver complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation
- Oversee schematic, design development, and construction document production in compliance with scope, schedule, cost, and design intent
- Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems
- Oversee construction administration duties, including RFIs, RFPs, and change orders
- Review shop drawings, material samples, and construction documents for design conformance
- Develop and manage project schedules, including HCM staffing assignments
- Manage contract compliance and project financials, including fee budgets and invoicing
- Foster a collaborative team environment that mentors and develops junior staff
- Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout all project phases
- Participate in marketing, client, and owner presentations as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10-15 years of experience in the Architectural field
- License required
- Experience in Affordable Housing preferred
- Experience with Maryland LIHTC processes is required
- Experience leading client meetings and sub-consultant coordination
- Strong Revit skills
- Experience in preparing construction documents and construction administration
- Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Strong knowledge of the various federal, state, and local funding sources and application processes
- A portfolio or work samples must be submitted to be considered; a link is preferred
- Portfolio or work samples must not exceed 4 MB
