About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze and understand medium to complex issues/projects
Coordinate documentation of business needs and business process flow documents
Conduct research and requirements interviews with stakeholders
Participate in elicitation, Joint Application Development (JAD), and Design Thinking sessions
Document business requirements using Horizon’s prescribed tools and processes
Conduct requirements walkthroughs and participate in grooming sessions with business and IT stakeholders
Identify viable solution alternatives with solution architects and application development leads
Lead improvement identification and recommendation processes
Verify and validate requirements, obtain solution approvals, and maintain traceability
Create technical documents and high-level solution designs
Gather, document, and consolidate work estimates
Support business case and ROI model development
Provide systems support during testing and after go-live
Create and coordinate project plan tasks aligned with SDLC milestones
Manage and deliver forecasts using standard templates or formats
Coordinate impacted teams to ensure timely closure of support tickets
Lead and coordinate teams of resources to align technical solutions with business requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree required or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
At least 6-8 years of related information technology work experience, preferably in the health insurance industry
Demonstrated experience in a key role in major company initiatives and demonstrated leadership experience
Expertise in Production Support activities including Issue resolution and bug fixing, application monitoring and dashboard tracking, Incident management and troubleshooting, Process improvements and Automation
Experience with claims process systems preferred
Knowledge of system development life cycle and implementation methodologies
Working knowledge in structured query languages or analysis techniques
Basic ability to apply structure to a loosely defined problem
Basic understanding of core business functions
Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with and lead teams
Skillful project execution experience and knowledge in a lead role
Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously while supporting others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening, rapport-building, and presentation skills
Fundamental critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to begin mentoring lower-level BSAs
Strong PC skills including MS Office Suite and Visio
Working knowledge of programming, development, and technical architecture
