About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and assess scalable, reliable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premises environments
- Develop end-to-end technology roadmaps across devices
- Lead implementation and development of long-term IT infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals and industry trends
- Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
- Serve as an architectural subject matter expert across IT, Security, and business teams
- Identify business needs, document requirements, and ensure implementations follow corporate policies and standards
- Identify infrastructure automation opportunities for provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across team levels
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with regulatory and security standards, including CIS strategies and implementations
- Resolve complex IT infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis
- Lead cost optimization initiatives across IT and infrastructure
- Evaluate third-party services and vendors and partner with Sourcing on contracts
- Enhance storage infrastructure services and performance
- Define the adoption of AI in infrastructure and cloud
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 12 years in IT Engineering or a related field
- Expert experience with IT technologies, protocols, and architectures
- Expertise in enterprise infrastructure architecture, including compute, storage, backup systems, SAN/NAS technologies, hybrid cloud platforms, networking, high availability, disaster recovery, roadmap development, architecture governance, and cross-functional technical direction
- Understanding of automation and IaC using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Python
- Knowledge of security and governance using IAM, NIST, and CIS
- Preferred knowledge of database and middleware infrastructure
- Preferred certifications including VMware, Nutanix, Azure, AWS, storage-related certifications, CompTIA Storage Certified, CIS Certification, CITAM, and ITIL
- Expert understanding of physical servers, VMware, Nutanix, NAS/SAN storage, and cloud storage
- Expert knowledge of Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB
- Expert understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
- Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud compute and storage solutions
- Advanced understanding of VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V virtualization
- Expert knowledge of end user computing systems, desktops, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Amazon WorkSpaces/AppStream
- Expert knowledge of distributed computing platforms and IT diagnostic tools
- Expert knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of system technology
- Expert knowledge of systems management software, remote control, patch management, software distribution, and operating systems
- Deep knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Ability to design and implement complex IT infrastructure solutions
- Skill in troubleshooting and resolving complex IT infrastructure issues
- Ability to manage, monitor, maintain, and optimize IT infrastructure systems
- Ability to write scripts and automate storage tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Exceptional ability to write and discuss clear technical procedures
- Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of personnel
- Advanced ability to follow and create standard operating procedures
- Ability to analyze complex infrastructure issues and develop effective solutions
