About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available IT infrastructure systems across cloud and on-premises environments
- Identify and assess emerging technologies and develop long-term IT infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business goals and industry standards
- Define the adaptation of AI in infrastructure and cloud
- Lead implementation and development of IT infrastructure strategies
- Serve as an architectural subject matter expert across IT, Security, and business teams
- Identify business needs, document requirements, and ensure implementations follow corporate policies and standards
- Identify and implement infrastructure automation for provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance of infrastructure and end-user devices
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across team member levels
- Ensure IT infrastructure complies with regulatory and security standards
- Resolve complex IT infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis
- Identify and implement strategies to optimize IT and infrastructure costs
- Evaluate third-party services, collaborate on vendor selection, and partner with Sourcing to review contracts
- Continuously enhance infrastructure services and performance while staying current with emerging technologies and best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- HSD or GED required; Bachelor Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 8 years in IT Engineering or a related field
- Expert experience with IT technologies, protocols, and architecture
- Comprehensive expertise in enterprise infrastructure architecture, including compute, storage, backup systems, SAN/NAS technologies, hybrid cloud platforms, networking, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, virtual desktop environments, strategic roadmap development, architecture governance, and cross-functional technical direction
- Understanding of automation and IaC using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Python
- Knowledge of security and governance, including IAM, NIST, and CIS
- Knowledge of observability platforms including Splunk, Elastic, and Dynatrace
- Experience supporting virtual desktop cloud
- Knowledge of compute systems, VMware, Nutanix, NAS/SAN storage, and cloud storage
- Knowledge of storage protocols including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB
- Understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
- Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud compute and storage solutions
- Advanced understanding of VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V virtualization
- Expert knowledge of end user computing systems and virtual desktop environments including Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Amazon WorkSpaces/AppStream
- Expert knowledge of distributed computing platforms and IT diagnostic tools
- Expert knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of system technology
- Expert knowledge of systems management software, remote control, patch management, software distribution, and computer operating systems
- Deep knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Ability to design and implement complex IT infrastructure solutions
- Skill in troubleshooting and resolving complex IT infrastructure issues
- Ability to manage, monitor, and optimize IT infrastructure systems
- Ability to write scripts and automate storage tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Exceptional ability to write and discuss clear technical procedures
- Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of personnel
- Advanced ability to follow and create standard operating procedures
- Preferred/Not Required certifications include CompTIA Storage Certified, CIS Certification, CITAM, ITIL, AWS cloud certifications, Azure cloud certifications, VMware certifications, and Nutanix certifications
