About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and all aspects of patient care
  • Maintain and promote patient health in inpatient and outpatient situations
  • Provide patient education about preventative care and prescribed treatments
  • Conduct physicals, order tests, and prescribe medications as appropriate
  • Coordinate timely patient care under physician supervision for defined patient populations
  • Coordinate care between healthcare providers and participate in interprofessional rounds
  • Collaborate with interprofessional healthcare teams to manage patient care
  • Advocate for patients and families and resolve clinical and ethical concerns
  • Conduct health assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care
  • Perform invasive, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures within licensure and credentialed privileges
  • Lead outcome, quality, and safety improvement activities
  • Assist with protocols to ensure patient safety
  • Implement financial and efficiency strategies through timely documentation and reduced length of stay
  • Promote research and evidence-based practice
  • Provide professional education through research, presentations, and publications
  • Serve as a clinical resource, preceptor, coach, and mentor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing
  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioners program
  • Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice, or nurse practitioner clinical experience
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure
  • APRN Non-Acute Care state license
  • Non-Acute Care ANCC recognized certification
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association
  • AP - Prescriptive Authority - Texas Board of Nursing / Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
  • DEA - Narcotics License within 6 months
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
  • Demonstrated assessment, clinical, documentation, leadership, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise clinical judgment under the Nurse Practice Act
  • Proficient time management skills
