About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead support for business growth and transformation through human capital and change management guidance
- Serve as the HR point of contact for assigned client groups or system-wide service lines
- Prepare regular statistical summaries and identify existing and emerging HR trends
- Guide and communicate Houston Methodist strategies while providing independent HR leadership and consultation
- Partner with executives, HR directors, HR professionals, and business leaders to align business strategies and best practices
- Build strategic relationships across areas, teams, departments, and units
- Lead or facilitate department process improvements and system-wide leadership project teams
- Advise executives and leaders on human capital management, restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Mentor peers and recommend opportunities to improve turnover, retention, and employee engagement
- Translate the Houston Methodist brand, employee value proposition, business strategy, and goals into HR practices
- Develop and drive change management strategies supporting HR programs and initiatives
- Support performance management, leadership and management development, workforce planning, manager and employee education, organizational design, talent, retention, reward, and recognition initiatives
- Identify organizational and human capital issues and recommend strategic action plans
- Partner with senior management on HR-impacting issues and build leadership capabilities
- Evaluate issues, patterns, and trends to design proactive HR solutions and change initiatives
- Collect and interpret business-unit data to improve profitability, efficiency, and workplace decision-making
- Maintain knowledge of healthcare industry and emerging HR trends
- Pursue self-development and maintain an ongoing development plan
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required
- Eight years as an HR professional in a progressive business environment, including at least seven years designing and implementing HR programs
- Proven track record planning and implementing effective human resource interventions to business problems
- Experience developing and consulting on change management strategies
- Experience developing workforce plans and influencing business unit leaders
- Expert knowledge of HR processes and practices, including recruiting and selection, management coaching, talent management, compensation, performance management, employee relations, people strategy planning, and organizational development and effectiveness
- Strong business acumen with focus on financial stewardship
- Advanced computer knowledge and high proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems and Microsoft Office software
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge and application of Federal and State employment laws, regulations and legislation
- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support
- Experience diagnosing organization issues and proposing strategic solutions
- Proven ability to facilitate large groups and excellent presentation skills
- Demonstrated strategic consulting success with senior-level management
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
