About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, plan, develop, and oversee clinical department operations, budgets, and administrative activities
- Manage daily work activities, scheduling, supervision, retention, and evaluation of department employees
- Provide staff guidance, development, mentoring, coaching, and corrective counseling
- Contribute to hiring and termination decisions and coordinate initial interviews for administrative support positions
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, training, monitoring, and compliance initiatives
- Plan and organize daily department operations, schedules, priorities, and functional standards
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels, schedules, performance evaluations, and supply maintenance
- Resolve patient satisfaction issues and provide support to patients, physicians, faculty, and staff
- Monitor safety, accreditation, regulatory, and HR compliance requirements
- Optimize information systems, workflow, data management, and performance improvement
- Conduct analyses of utilization, patient satisfaction, revenue enhancement, and cost reduction opportunities
- Develop and manage department budgets, expenses, staffing plans, productivity, and resource efficiency
- Coordinate front-end billing operations and interface with the Centralized Billing Office
- Lead process improvements, innovative solutions, strategic relationships, and change initiatives
- Contribute to annual clinic/department goals and support staff achievement through training and resources
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospital/healthcare administration, clinical, or related field
- Five years in a healthcare professional/administrative capacity of progressively responsible staff experience within the applicable field
- Houston Methodist employees may be considered with four years of experience demonstrating progressive leadership abilities
- Experience in clinic management preferred
- Required BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor certification from the American Heart Association
- English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
- EKG monitoring per specific department requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze data, identify issues and opportunities, and develop appropriate solutions
- Flexibility and adaptability in the workplace
