About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as financial leader and trusted advisor to approximately 30 solo and small law firm owners
Advise clients on pricing, margins, cash flow, hiring, and growth
Build financial models, forecasts, and KPI dashboards
Diagnose issues such as pricing problems, unbilled hours, slow collections, and unprofitable hires
Explain financial findings in plain English and help owners implement improvements
Support law firm owners in building more profitable businesses
Work with a provided portfolio of potential clients and established systems
Participate in a short, hands-on working session during the interview process

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years as a CFO or the most senior finance leader
Experience including fractional, outsourced, or virtual CFO work
Experience advising several owners or business lines simultaneously
Experience with utilization, realization, capacity, and revenue per head
Experience improving profitability, pricing, or margins, with demonstrable results
Profit First certification or equivalent Profit First-oriented thinking is a strong plus
Applicants must reside in one of the listed states
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must work full-time as a W-2 employee with no outside work or consulting
Legal experience is not required
