About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop proficiencies in completing standard actuarial analyses
Take part in more advanced analyses as needed
Become familiar with Howden Re’s tools and approach
Contribute to the development of tools and approaches
Present solutions and services to clients
Work across analytics, brokers, and other functions to identify and respond to client needs
Develop additional opportunities related to products and services
Collect and manipulate data in spreadsheets and database applications
Prepare client-ready presentations communicating analysis results to brokers and clients
Understand reinsurance contracts and products, including terminology, terms and conditions
Proactively manage workflow and take initiative on internal projects improving processes, products, or services
Own the quality, accuracy, and timely completion of analyses
Support Howden Re’s “Team First” culture and help others without prompting

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a 3.5 or higher graduating GPA
0-2 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry
Actuarial exam(s) are a plus
Prior Actuarial Internship is a plus
Strong aptitude for analysis, database management and programming skills
Minor in computer science or at least 2 completed programming classes strongly preferred
Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Initiative and eagerness to drive projects to a successful conclusion
Willing and able to act as a team player
Legally authorized to work in the United States
