About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work directly with senior leaders and client-facing colleagues to define commercial questions and convert answers into products
Own analytical product delivery end to end, from initial conversations through production use
Lead development of reusable components, libraries, frameworks, templates, and team working practices
Build configurable, documented, and maintainable products for reuse and hand-off
Work within and help shape software development lifecycle and governance requirements
Support technical development of colleagues and review their work
Maintain delivery momentum as priorities change
Collaborate with a distributed Strategic Data & Analytics team and business stakeholders primarily through Teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Consulting mindset and enjoyment of working across varied problems
Ability to help senior leaders make better decisions using data, analytics, and visualisation
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to take ownership of decisions, actions, and outputs
Comfort with uncertainty, speed, incomplete information, and ambiguity
Ability to work effectively in a distributed team primarily collaborating over Teams
Experience taking more than one analytical product from incomplete brief through to sustained use
Experience building reusable components used by colleagues
Experience supporting, changing, and maintaining analytical products after release
Substantial experience building analytical products in Python
Real experience with many of Python, Shiny for Python, Quarto, git, Azure DevOps, Docker, and Terraform, or close equivalents such as R, Shiny, tidyverse, Streamlit, Dash, or scientific and quantitative computing
Ability to build, read, write, debug, review, and explain code without AI coding agents
This would not be your first role building analytical products
