About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in a 12-week Summer 2027 internship with Howmet Aerospace’s Corporate Information Security team
- Focus on Policy, Risk and Governance
- Gain experience in Cyber Data Loss Prevention, cyber investigations, Vulnerability Management, Security Awareness, and Cyber Incident Response
- Support identification, assessment, and mitigation of cybersecurity risks
- Develop cybersecurity policies and standards
- Assist with risk assessments and documentation
- Develop reports, dashboards, and insights supporting risk-informed decision-making
- Review security controls and control evidence
- Support compliance activities and audit readiness
- Align frameworks, particularly NIST, CMMC, and ISO 27001
- Identify and track gaps and remediation
- Learn how governance translates technical cybersecurity requirements into business expectations
- Interact with Corporate Information Security team members and learn their roles and responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity
- Expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
- Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular participation
- Involved with at least 1 extracurricular activity
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Employment eligibility verification required at hire
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Previous internship in Information Technology with a global employer (preferred)
- Project experience with security tools or procedures (preferred)
- Ability to manage projects and work within a team in a fast-paced environment (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (preferred)
