About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day legal support to Human Resources teams for Howmet’s international operations outside the United States
- Advise executives and HR teams on employment law matters in Europe, primarily in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Hungary
- Manage external counsel on employment law matters in Europe, Japan, China, and Australia
- Review and coordinate updates to internal policies and procedures with HR teams
- Ensure compliance of offer letters, employment contracts, and documents related to employment termination
- Manage external counsel in litigation matters
- Propose practical, business-oriented responses to legal and operational risks and drive matters through to resolution
- Keep HR teams informed of significant legislative developments in employment law across Europe and Asia
- Support the activities of Howmet Aerospace Inc., a global leader in the engineering and manufacturing of complex metal components for the aerospace, defense, and commercial transportation industries
Requirements
What you’ll need- Law degree
- Admission in good standing to the relevant bar
- More than 8 years of professional experience gained at an international law firm
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Fluency in French is a significant advantage
- High level of integrity and discretion
- Strong skills and confidence required for the role
- Risk-based approach
- Ability to explain legal issues in an accessible manner
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Ability to implement sustainable processes and procedures across different jurisdictions
- Ability to work in an international environment and across diverse legal systems
