About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in Howmet Aerospace’s 12-week Summer 2027 accounting internship
  • Work with the Financial Transactions and Policy team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Complete an Assets/Liabilities Project reviewing changes in account balances and explaining fluctuations
  • Gain experience in corporate accounting and finance using Excel and Oracle Smart View
  • Assist with financial analyses, SEC filings, 10-Q tie-outs, earnings press releases, and SOX controls documentation
  • Use accounting systems for monthly general ledger financial close and consolidation
  • Review and research internal policies, SOPs, the Financial Management Handbook, and GAAP requirements
  • Interact with global finance contacts to validate account balances and fluctuations
  • Attend information sessions with the Senior Leadership team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s program in Accounting or Finance
  • Expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or equivalent
  • Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular participation
  • Involved with at least one extracurricular activity
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Employment eligibility verification required at the time of hire
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
