About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a global team of employees, contractors, and offshore resources specializing in Microsoft technologies
Architect, maintain, and advance on-premises Microsoft environments and cloud platforms, including Azure and Microsoft 365
Serve as subject matter expert for corporate Microsoft solutions
Develop, implement, evaluate, procure, and/or support computer systems and information solutions
Identify and recommend computer and business solutions based on customer and business information requirements
Maintain security in collaboration with the Information Security team
Architect approaches for new acquisitions or divestitures
Manage advanced Tier 3 support and preventive maintenance processes
Advise system customers and GIS-IT personnel
Manage the Expert Service Agreement process
Operate within Howmet IS and Business Unit IT standards
Establish cross-functional data and system linkages
Ensure methodologies, support processes, procedures, and system-quality indicators are in place
Ensure compliance with IT audit and compliance standards, including business partnerships, change control, disaster recovery, and security
Manage onshore and offshore development and support models
Conduct coaching, counseling, and annual performance reviews
Manage multiple system services and larger projects, including estimates, status communications, schedules, emergency support, and day-to-day team activities
Lead discovery, planning, and implementation of process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution, or 8 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of a degree
Minimum 8 years’ experience in design, configuration, implementation and support of Windows hardware and software
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Certification in ITIL v.4 preferred
Certification in Microsoft Azure, M365, Exchange or other Microsoft technologies
Sound understanding of enterprise-scale multi-site/country Windows environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Azure, Entra AD, Entra Connect, SCCM, SCOM, M365 Exchange, Intune, and PowerShell scripting
Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware
Understanding of securely implementing technologies in a global hybrid cloud environment and working within a security framework across all infrastructure levels
Familiarity with information technology operations within a manufacturing facility and process-control-area isolation techniques
Experience implementing and/or managing M365 and Azure environments
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage medium/large projects and provide direction to other project teams
Broad knowledge of physical and virtual server technologies
Familiarity with Enterprise Storage, Storage Area Networking, Oracle and SQL databases, and LAN/WAN networking would be a plus
