About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage assigned employee benefits book of business
  • Develop client relationships and deliver strategies to grow and retain clients
  • Develop and implement clients’ multi-year strategic plans with Producers
  • Support clients in managing health and welfare programs
  • Liaise between employer group administrators and insurance carriers
  • Maintain accurate account files and update HUB systems and agency management systems
  • Analyze and compare insurance plans for suitability
  • Advise clients on HUB resources, carrier/vendor offerings, and industry trends
  • Assist with billing issues, auditing, and reconciliation
  • Develop and communicate Market Analysis strategy; analyze results and negotiate with carriers
  • Ensure services are implemented according to project plans and deliverables meet quality standards
  • Coordinate client introductions and HUB Specialty Practice Teams
  • Gather data and prepare/conduct renewal, open enrollment, and post-renewal presentations
  • Lead implementation of new and renewal plans or programs
  • Resolve escalated complex service issues between clients and carriers
  • Manage enrollment processes and online enrollment systems
  • Partner with Producers on benefits strategy, program design, financial analysis, benchmarking, and funding alternatives
  • Prepare or peer review EB Comp Disclosure
  • Provide benchmarking and plan assessment data
  • Provide direction on contribution modeling with Business Analysts
  • Provide feedback to sales, account management, and marketing teams
  • Perform QA reviews of financial and communication materials
  • Maintain strategic planning, compliance calendars, and implementation timelines
  • Stay current on insurance industry changes and attend continuing education
  • Submit BOR letters and obtain carrier contracts, renewals, and benefit descriptions
  • Update open enrollment packets, plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and potentially 5500 filings
  • Work with Producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewal activities
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma / GED required; college degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of related benefit insurance industry experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Life & Health insurance License
  • Experience in managing wellness programs within large accounts preferred
  • Experience in self-funded account management preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits products and services
  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA legislation
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems
  • Ability to solve complex problems and implement solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ability to work effectively with insurance and service vendors
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and coach others
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
