About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and implement algorithms enabling wireless connectivity between terrestrial Bluetooth devices and satellites
Contribute to modeling, system design, and implementation of wireless communication systems
Work with cross-functional hardware and software engineering groups
Lead projects from concept to reality rapidly and effectively
Apply first-principles engineering to complex system design
Understand requirements flow-down and iterate on evolving requirements
Conduct self-directed design reviews and participate in reviews of parallel systems
Communicate technical topics with engineering, build staff, and operations
Identify problems and produce reliable, cost-effective solutions for an early-stage company

Requirements

What you’ll need

2 years of directly relevant experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Strong understanding of communication theory and signal processing-related algorithm design, including channel estimation, equalization, beamforming, timing recovery, coding, and error correction
Knowledge of wireless communication protocols, including 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11 standards, and Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy
Expertise in signal processing and wireless communications systems, such as FSK/OFDM/MIMO
Hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization
Experience with Matlab or Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation
Experience and knowledge of High Level Synthesis (HLS), silicon prototyping, FPGA development, and emulation systems
Experience bringing up real systems in silicon/FPGA/SoC
Experience using lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
Ability to work independently
Ability to learn new technologies, network protocols, and tools rapidly
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when specific highly-critical events dictate
Passion for creating state-of-the-art software systems
U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (green card) required under ITAR
Strongly desired: 5–10 years of relevant experience
Strongly desired: Experience with multi-radio coexistence management
Strongly desired: Experience in modem architecture, microprocessor architecture, and hardware/software control
Strongly desired: Experience with low-power algorithm design for power-critical applications
