About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Adhere to strict safety standards and enforce consistent data collection procedures
Safely guide the car captain in urban, rural, and unfamiliar environments
Mount, configure, operate, and monitor the mobile mapping system, 360° panoramic camera, GPS equipment, and related system hardware
Download, organize, and post-process raw sensor data
Digitally transfer or physically ship project source data sets, including point cloud, imagery, and GPS data, to the data processing center
Record and maintain daily operations logs
Prepare activity and incident reports and other required paperwork
Perform quality control activities on system source data streams and provide feedback to the data processing center
Troubleshoot mobile mapping system issues, errors, and data inconsistencies
Coordinate solutions and system fixes with in-house technical staff and/or the hardware vendor’s technical support team
Assist with removal, repair, and installation of the mobile mapping system on data collection vehicles
Comply with the employer’s vehicle maintenance schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma required
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, or similar discipline preferred
Background with field data collection, surveying, or mapping operations preferred
Experience using GIS software and/or online mapping applications (e.g., Google Maps) to support vehicle navigation and route planning activities
Familiarity with geospatial data, GPS hardware, and related software applications
Strong computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office, ArcGIS or AutoCAD
Arabic required; English preferred
Driving license required
