About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Hold overall accountability for outbound logistics and warehousing operations across the UK and US
  • Own inbound freight operations for raw materials and finished goods, primarily container shipments
  • Manage 3PL and freight partners, setting KPIs and improving service, quality and cost
  • Develop automation and network strategy with UK and US logistics partners
  • Build CAPEX cases and payback analyses and lead delivery of approved initiatives
  • Identify and deliver cost, efficiency and service improvements across carriers, routes, warehouses and freight consolidation
  • Ensure compliance with customs, import/export and trade requirements across UK, EU and US operations
  • Lead Customer Supply teams across the UK and US, overseeing order management and fulfilment
  • Own logistics and customer service KPIs across all channels
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Product Supply and Finance to resolve issues and align financial forecasts
  • Lead logistics capacity planning within the S&OP process
  • Ensure logistics capacity supports growth, new markets and channel expansion
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of approximately 12 across the UK and US

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, distribution and freight within the FMCG sector or a comparable fast-moving, physical-goods environment
  • Deep operational knowledge of order picking, warehousing, transport, outbound distribution and international freight, including container shipping, customs and import/export, across DTC, Retail and Amazon fulfilment
  • Proven experience managing 3PL and freight partners, including selection, setup, performance management and relationship building
  • Robust numerical and financial modelling skills
  • Ability to build CAPEX and payback cases for significant investment and present data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders and at board level
  • Experience leading customer supply, order management or customer service teams in FMCG
  • Track record of delivering service levels such as OTIF with major retailers and marketplaces
  • Strategic and operational logistics leadership experience, including network scaling and automation
  • Deep experience in line management, leadership, coaching and development across multiple geographies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly organised, calm and decisive under pressure, with ability to handle ambiguity and drive continuous improvement
  • Successful completion of appropriate pre-employment checks, which may include a Basic DBS check and other role-relevant checks
