About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor the drug development pipeline and medical literature
  • Provide clinical support for internal stakeholders
  • Develop and/or implement strategies and programs to reduce cost trend and improve health outcomes
  • Develop and operationalize formularies for coverage, utilization management edits, or clinical coverage policies for pharmacy and medical administered drug products
  • Analyze drug use trends to evaluate and inform formulary strategies
  • Collaborate on research projects and develop research project proposals
  • Develop corporate communications for senior leadership
  • Conduct analysis of drug spend, utilization, and/or approval scenarios to support trend management
  • Advise executives on functional strategies, often segment-specific
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues with minimal supervision
  • Report to a leader and participate in the HPS Clinical Program Strategy team
  • Occasionally travel to Humana offices for training or meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active Pharmacist license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state
  • Successful track record in facilitating and consulting across teams and managing projects
  • Expertise in working collaboratively and communicating with staff in different positions and all levels of management positions
  • Pharm D (standout qualification)
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field (standout qualification)
  • Experience with Microsoft Access & Microsoft Project (standout qualification)
  • Experience with pharmacy benefits and health benefits (standout qualification)
  • Minimum 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload internet service
  • Dedicated work space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
