About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to senior leaders through enterprise-wide strategic plans and objectives
Lead cross-functional strategy projects related to enterprise growth priorities
Provide strategic support for M&A processes and external partnership opportunities
Present recommendations to Humana’s senior leadership and Board
Own project delivery from problem definition through analysis, recommendations, and execution
Lead teams of 3–5 associates conducting industry analysis, financial modeling, market and competitive research, benchmarking, competitive intelligence, and qualitative analysis
Serve as a strategic partner to businesses and functional organizations including CenterWell, Insurance, Technology/IT, and Finance
Develop business cases, define strategic initiatives, establish priorities and timelines, and build stakeholder alignment
Partner with Corporate Development on M&A and external partnership strategy
Manage external relationships with business partners and stakeholders
Develop team members and improve operating processes, tools, and approaches for the Corporate Strategy function

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or a related strategy function
Experience with large-scale business or operational transformations
Healthcare industry experience
Knowledge of healthcare business models, market dynamics, competitive trends, and/or growth opportunities
Experience developing enterprise or business-unit strategy, including competitive analysis, strategic roadmaps, growth strategy, and investment prioritization
Ability to structure and solve complex, ambiguous business problems using quantitative and qualitative analysis
Experience leading complex, consulting-style strategy engagements from problem definition and analysis through recommendations and execution
Experience advising and influencing senior executives, including presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership, executive teams, and/or Boards
Success leading and developing high-performing teams, managing multiple priorities, and driving cross-functional initiatives
Strong preference for candidates located near New York City, Washington, DC, Louisville, Nashville, or Chicago; candidates open to relocation are encouraged
Ability to work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
Self-provided internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed
Occasional travel to Humana offices may be required
