About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with agents and consultants to sell Ancillary Group insurance products to new and existing accounts with 51 or more eligible employees, focusing on 100–999 and 1000+ employee groups
  • Discover, develop and maintain benefits brokerage relationships that drive sales and retention of Humana’s Group benefit products
  • Achieve production through broker development
  • Deliver organized, polished presentations tied to employer business needs
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase sales and maximize profitability
  • Develop new business opportunities through consultative selling, issue resolution and superior service
  • Manage complex negotiations and position products, rate levels and expanded product portfolios
  • Maintain benefits brokerage and consultant relationships within the assigned territory
  • Identify profitable growth and cross-sell opportunities with internal and external partners
  • Coordinate finalist presentations, sales seminars and testimonials
  • Participate in constituent meetings, including finalist presentations
  • Track activities and update account information in the company CRM
  • Develop understanding of Humana’s business, Group products, brokerage relationships and clients
  • Collaborate with Ancillary Small Group Sales Representatives and Ancillary Client Executive to expand broker/client relationships
  • Implement and support new sales initiatives
  • Support, mentor and motivate the market team
  • Coordinate with other team members and departments to optimize sales efforts
  • Build Humana’s brand across the market
  • Develop strategic relationships and circles of influence to drive business to Humana
  • Maintain and communicate expertise on products, industry and emerging marketplace trends
  • Occasionally set up new cases and participate in enrollment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Success selling Dental, Vision and other ancillary insurance products to employers with 100 or more employees
  • 3 years’ experience selling Group Insurance, with 5+ years’ sales experience preferred
  • Experience building relationships with brokers and consultants
  • Consultative selling background and experience
  • Executive presence
  • Business and Financial Acumen
  • Valid State Health and Life insurance licenses
  • Valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance
  • Ability to travel as needed within territory to meet with brokers, clients and team members in person
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must live in TX for this role - San Antonio/Austin
  • Download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps minimum
  • Wireless, wired cable or DSL internet connection suggested
  • Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
