About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to study conceptualization, literature reviews, and proposal writing
- Develop study protocols
- Execute statistical analyses according to study protocols under supervision of experienced research scientists
- Report and interpret results
- Contribute to manuscript development
- Participate in research teams and support research activities
- Synthesize, communicate, and present research findings to Humana stakeholders
- Conduct research involving comparative effectiveness, disease characterization, treatment patterns, cost and healthcare utilization, medication access and affordability, pharmacy benefit design, utilization management, and pharmacy policy evaluation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing (final-year student) or recently completed PhD in pharmacy, outcomes research, epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, health economics, public health or health services research
- Knowledge in quantitative health outcomes research, analytics, and statistical techniques
- Knowledge of causal inference methods or relevant coursework on quasi-experimental methods, including propensity score analysis, inverse probability treatment weighting, interrupted time series analysis, regression discontinuity designs, instrumental variable analysis, and/or causal mediation analysis
- Ability to commit to at least part-time employment for 16 to 20 weeks beginning in November 2026
- Experience working collaboratively on research teams
- Proficiency in at least one statistical coding language
- Interest in a career in healthcare research
- Experience using R and/or SAS for data management and statistical analyses preferred
- Experience utilizing real-world data sources, such as claims databases and electronic health records, for observational studies and RWE generation preferred
- Experience in scientific writing and/or manuscript authorship preferred
- Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
- Ability to work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
