About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Keep the patient's environment clean and safe
  • Monitor and record patients' physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise
  • Provide personal services including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Teach patients to use canes, walkers, special eating utensils, and personal hygiene equipment
  • Teach family members appropriate ways to lift, turn, and reposition patients
  • Advise families on nutrition and cleanliness
  • Record patient information in patient journals
  • Notify the nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment while following asepsis standards and security precautions
  • Adhere to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HHA 75 Hour Certificate or current CNA State License
  • CPR certification
  • OSHA Certificate
  • HIV/AIDS Certificate
  • HIPAA Certificate
  • Alzheimer's Certificate
  • Domestic Violence Certificate
  • Minimum 1+ year(s) professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors
  • Required to complete tuberculosis (TB) screening if selected
  • Valid in-state driver's license
  • Current vehicle registration and insurance
  • Driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years
  • Proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits
  • Subject to Florida Level 2 background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
