About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform general accounting activities, including preparing, maintaining, and reconciling ledger accounts and financial statements
Prepare balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules
Document accounting projects
Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions
Ensure the integrity, completeness, accuracy, and compliance of accounting records
Provide financial support through forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing budget variances
Analyze and prepare financial statements and reports
Influence department strategy
Make decisions regarding technical approaches for project components
Report to an Accounting Lead
Work as an individual contributor
Travel occasionally to Humana offices for training or meetings if required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Five or more years of experience in an accounting or finance role
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proficiency in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
Master's Degree in Business Administration or Master's Degree in Accounting (preferred)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred)
Knowledge of SQL and Snowflake (preferred)
Experience with PowerBI (preferred)
Previous experience in healthcare (preferred)
Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload for home or hybrid employees
