About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all aspects of Medicaid implementation projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion
- Plan, organize, monitor, and oversee complex projects using cross-functional teams
- Assist in training and perform duties as the dedicated Project Manager
- Manage the full project life cycle, including requirements assessment, project planning, scheduling, resourcing, budgeting, execution, deployment, and closure
- Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, issue lists, project plans, and risk management plans
- Communicate project status to stakeholders and external agencies
- Negotiate with stakeholders to identify resources, resolve issues, and mitigate risks
- Coordinate cross-functional meetings and align stakeholder expectations with company objectives
- Provide functional and technical knowledge across business and technical areas
- Monitor project deliverables, including design documents, test plans, training materials, and operations documentation
- Provide leadership for project teams and motivate members to meet goals and milestones
- Report on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership
- Assess interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
- Perform internal project quality control and participate in issue resolution
- Define Statements of Work and specifications for Medicaid contracts/RFPs
- Manage project/program expectations, delegate deliverables, and manage issues and risks
- Deliver effective executive-level communication
- Ensure projects and programs meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or 5 years of relevant work experience
- 5+ years of formal Project Management experience working with large size initiatives
- 2+ years of experience in Change Management
- 3+ years working in a managed care healthcare system or health plan
- Experience working in Medicaid and/or Medicare
- 3+ years of experience in a matrixed environment
- Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle, Waterfall, and Agile Development Methodologies
- Experience in business operations or consulting services in a health plan
- Solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with Smartsheet (PM tool)
- Prosci, Six Sigma, and/or Project Management Institute certifications
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, typically 8–5 pm Eastern Time
- Internet service with minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps
- Dedicated work space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
