About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop best-in-class web platforms and user experiences for a global audience, supporting localized language, regulatory, and cultural needs
  • Manage web marketers, agencies, and external resources for redesigns, rebuilds, platform improvements, and maintenance
  • Develop a long-term platform stability and optimization roadmap focused on accessibility, performance, and conversion efficiency
  • Architect the overarching web content framework and governance model
  • Lead the team responsible for maintaining cohesive, integrated user experiences across websites
  • Manage and develop the web marketing team, including hiring, training, workload management, performance reviews, goal setting, and professional development
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish a multiyear global web strategy
  • Oversee enterprise-level web governance, policies, global content strategy, website requests, and the complete website lifecycle
  • Define tools, assets, and budgets needed to maintain web properties
  • Evaluate, report on, and improve website effectiveness using conversion, usability, performance, and mission-clarity metrics
  • Ensure website measurement and reporting support fundraising, advocacy, mission, and brand consistency
  • Ensure content follows internal brand style guidelines and content best practices
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI discovery and search developments
  • Provide strategic web marketing guidance and participate in organization-wide efforts
  • Stay current with web platform, digital governance, and nonprofit digital strategy trends

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or another relevant field, or equivalent work experience required
  • At least 10 years of experience in marketing, with a concentration on web platforms required
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience required
  • Experience executing online content strategies focused on clarity, authority, and conversion effectiveness rather than traffic growth alone
  • Demonstrated AI literacy, including understanding how AI-driven systems affect content discovery, attribution, accuracy, and trust
  • Experience supporting nonprofit organizations strongly desired
  • Experience partnering with online advocacy and fundraising teams to support conversion and trust building
  • Experience with content management systems, online conversion tools, web analytics tools, and project management systems
  • Engaging Networks and Drupal experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Experience with SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, MajesticSEO, or BrightEdge preferred
  • Ability to lead skilled web professionals and set a strategic vision prioritizing trust, reliability, and conversion readiness
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of basic HTML required
  • Knowledge of staff management practices and ability to establish accountability and expectations
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
