About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist and collaborate with Sales and Project Managers on project-specific purchase order and subcontract procurement
  • Manage purchase order and change order input and closures using Spectrum and Remarcable software
  • Negotiate with vendors on agreements and orders under the direction of purchasing leadership and divisional leaders
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with logistical, inventory, and tool strategies for Fire Alarm, A/V, Power Door, and other specialized systems
  • Perform sales tax administration for procurement and subcontracts
  • Develop material procurement strategies and participate in RFQs for project buyouts and inventory purchases
  • Set up new vendors and update vendor files
  • Complete tax-exempt certificates and maintain internal filing systems
  • Track backorders and enter key dates in internal tracking systems
  • Follow purchasing and inventory policies, processes, and procedures
  • Perform administrative tasks supporting subcontract hires when necessary
  • Work with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Purchasing, and divisional teams to support material, tool, and consumable procurement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Five (5) years of distributor experience, vendor relations, purchasing, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Limited Energy industry, equipment, tools, supplies and materials
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work with a flexible and collaborative work style to manage changing priorities
  • Demonstrated success working with immediate team members and other departments to build effective relationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Negotiation skills or experience
  • Ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
