About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide advanced technical diagnosis and support for complex and escalated vehicle concerns
  • Perform vehicle inspections, testing, and root cause analysis, including collection and analysis of vehicle diagnostic data
  • Build relationships with dealership technicians and service personnel to improve technical competency, engagement, and repair effectiveness
  • Coach dealerships on diagnostic processes, repair strategies, and service operations through on-site support
  • Represent Hyundai Auto Canada in CAMVAP arbitrations, small claims proceedings, product liability investigations, and other vehicle-related technical matters
  • Assess technical assistance cases using escalation risk metrics and proactively resolve high-risk cases with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain current knowledge of Hyundai and Genesis vehicle systems, diagnostic procedures, software updates, emerging technologies, and electrified vehicle platforms
  • Provide on-site support during field quality investigations and other quality-related activities
  • Travel throughout Quebec and Atlantic Canada to support dealership operations, field investigations, training, and quality-related activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • College diploma in Automotive Service Technology, Automotive Mechanics, or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar technical automotive role
  • Experience with an automotive manufacturer (OEM) or dealership service department preferred
  • Fluently bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
  • Excellent automotive diagnostic, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive electrical systems, including vehicle networks (CAN, LIN bus) and xEV systems
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Able to travel on a regular basis
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driver abstract
  • Ability to work outside standard business hours when required
