About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Test, diagnose, maintain, repair, and modify developmental or operational machinery, control equipment, and circuitry
- Inspect equipment, check operating condition, make adjustments, log test readings, and maintain, repair, or replace essential equipment parts
- Work with machine networking processes
- Work with outside contractors on troubleshooting procedures
- Troubleshoot CNC machining programming and operation
- Troubleshoot machines and restore production promptly
- Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine assembly methods and sequences
- Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates
- Operate metalworking machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, and fixtures
- Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems
- Prepare parts sketches and write work orders
- Review project instructions and specifications to plan fabrication, assembly, and testing requirements
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components
- Analyze test results and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications
- Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
- Research, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes
- Investigate equipment failures, diagnose faulty operation, and make recommendations
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure equipment functions according to specifications
- Conduct research testing the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions and procure replacement parts as necessary
- Maintain system logs and manuals documenting equipment testing and operation
- Follow lock out tag out procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years of experience in the electrical and/or mechanical maintenance field
- Experience in electrical installation and maintenance work on plant electrical systems and equipment
- Experience in mechanical installation and maintenance work on plant systems and equipment
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Broad knowledge of controls and mechanisms
- Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with remote IO design and operation
- Experience with robot programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with AC/DC drive motor operation, adjustment, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical orders
- Ability to work in a team environment and complete assigned action items
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects with strong prioritization skills
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, reasoning, and analytical skills
- Ability to quickly adapt in a constantly evolving, growing environment
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly
- Ability to wear required safety Personal Protective Equipment
- Willingness to travel for training in-state if required
- Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and/or weekends as required
- Degree in a related technical field is a plus, but not required
