About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan projects and administer contracts
- Review RFPs, proposals, estimates, schedules, contracts, and related documents
- Prepare subcontracts and contracts for approval
- Review, approve, and forward project submittals
- Prepare, submit, and manage project change orders
- Coordinate schedules, permits, job layouts, and preconstruction requirements
- Establish and maintain construction schedules and project milestones
- Coordinate subcontractors, manpower, tools, equipment, and material deliveries
- Assign personnel and equipment and monitor performance and schedule adherence
- Procure materials and coordinate vendor deliveries
- Conduct weekly crew observations to monitor field execution, productivity, and project performance
- Develop and maintain Site-Specific Safety Plans and Site-Specific Quality Plans
- Incorporate safety and quality requirements into project planning and execution
- Monitor project costs against budgets and financial expectations
- Lead monthly WIP and Focus Job Meetings covering performance, risks, forecasts, and corrective actions
- Assist Accounting with project billing and collection needs
- Manage financial and operational impacts of change orders
- Provide professional client service and manage client expectations
- Collaborate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve project issues
- Facilitate preconstruction and post-construction meetings
- Maintain communication among project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Coach and mentor Project Associates
- Direct and coordinate project personnel to promote accountability and achievement of project objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or another related business/mathematical discipline-focused degree program from a four-year college or technical school, or a comparable equivalent of education and work experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience in utility roles related to transmission or distribution projects
- Desire to mentor less experienced Project Associates
- PMP, FMI, or Primavera certifications
- Proficient in MS Office applications, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project
- Local to Pennsylvania preferred
- Regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites, and yard locations for offsite meetings
- Can-do attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams
