About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan projects and administer contracts
  • Review RFPs, proposals, estimates, schedules, contracts, and related documents
  • Prepare subcontracts and contracts for approval
  • Review, approve, and forward project submittals, including drawings and material samples
  • Prepare, submit, and manage project change orders
  • Coordinate schedules, permits, job layouts, and preconstruction requirements
  • Establish and maintain construction schedules and project milestones
  • Coordinate subcontractors, manpower, tools, equipment, and material deliveries
  • Assign personnel and equipment and monitor performance and schedule adherence
  • Procure materials and coordinate vendor deliveries
  • Conduct weekly crew observations to monitor field execution, productivity, and project performance
  • Develop and maintain Site-Specific Safety Plans and Site-Specific Quality Plans
  • Incorporate safety and quality requirements into project planning and execution
  • Monitor project costs and alignment with budgets
  • Lead monthly WIP and Focus Job Meetings covering performance, risks, forecasts, and corrective actions
  • Assist Accounting with project billing and collections
  • Manage the financial and operational impact of change orders
  • Provide professional client service and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Collaborate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Facilitate preconstruction and post-construction meetings and maintain agendas
  • Maintain communication among project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coach and mentor Project Associates
  • Direct and coordinate project personnel to promote accountability and achieve project objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or another related business/mathematical discipline-focused degree program from a four-year college or technical school, or a comparable equivalent of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience in utility roles related to transmission or distribution projects
  • Desire to mentor less experienced Project Associates
  • PMP, FMI, or Primavera certifications
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project
  • Local to Pennsylvania preferred
  • Regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites, and yard locations for offsite meetings
  • Flexibility to work from home when appropriate
  • “Can-do” attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams
