About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with business experts to understand needs, design, test, and explain tailored solutions
- Explore and analyze structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights and identify opportunities for modelling, automation, or artificial intelligence
- Develop models and AI solutions end-to-end, from proof of concept to deployment
- Prepare data, perform modelling or prototyping, evaluate results, and document solutions
- Collaborate with project, IT, and data teams to integrate and deploy solutions in production
- Monitor production solution and model performance, identify data or model drift, and recommend improvements
- Incorporate risk management practices related to privacy, model risk, and responsible AI
- Support AI adoption by sharing knowledge and identifying opportunities to improve ways of working
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 to 6 years of experience in data science
- University degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or another relevant scientific field
- Knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry is an asset
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques
- Experience with Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, and Git
- Knowledge of Power Platform is an asset
- Experience developing solutions incorporating generative AI or natural language processing is an asset
- Rigorous, business-focused approach to solving complex problems
- Ability to communicate effectively and explain complex concepts clearly to different audiences
- Curiosity, autonomy, collaboration, and adaptability
