About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Understand, articulate, and communicate the business value of the product or scope
- Develop, communicate, and evolve the product vision and roadmap aligned with Finance objectives and business priorities
- Assess existing and proposed processes and their integration with financial systems
- Translate product vision into business objectives and deliver initiatives within budget and timelines
- Present progress through ceremonies and governance forums
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business needs, defects, regulatory requirements, security, technical debt, and operationalization
- Translate product vision into epics, features, and user stories with analysts, architects, subject matter experts, and IT teams
- Identify, assess, and resolve roadmap-related risks and issues
- Analyze issues and scope-change impacts and recommend solutions
- Collaborate with analysts, architects, and IT teams to design and deliver solutions
- Define delivery and testing strategies
- Act as a leader and trusted advisor within the area of expertise
- Balance Agile ways of working with budget, governance, and reporting requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a Product Owner role or a similar transformation and delivery position
- Project experience within banking, financial services, accounting, or the insurance industry is an asset
- CPA designation is an asset
- Advanced French proficiency required for daily communication with colleagues, managers, and internal partners
- Intermediate English proficiency required for regular collaboration with colleagues and partners across Canada and the United States
- Influential leadership and strong customer focus
- Autonomy, rigor, political acumen, and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills and sound judgment
- Curiosity and interest in working across a diverse portfolio of initiatives
